Is there something wrong with the transfer case?

Ok we went muddin about two months ago none the less truck broke down, finally got it fixed but i have a question about the transfer case, ok, when we got out of the hole and went to the gas station and checked out the truck cause it was actin up, but we noticed that the front drive shaft was turnable by hand and is that normal? someone was saying that it was if its in neutral but i was in 2h, i was just curious about it cause i dont know much bout how they act.

It is fine. In 2hi the front drive shaft is not "engaged" only the rear (2-WD). If that was happening in 4hi or 4lo then there would be a problem (4WD).

Now if the hubs were locked and you could turn it by hand-then there is a problem the front diff. or hubs.

ok, yeah we took of the whole front end and checked out the gears in the front end they were good, what happened was the wheel bearings busted and basicly locked up the front end, but we checked the hubs and everything, the passenger side hub got cracked on two peices, but jb welded it together and its held up so far. i got the front drive shaft off right now cause im waiting to get some new u joints and bolts cause it needs it, but thanks for the help i was kinda worried ida have to get the t case fixed

That's scary. Fix it right or don't bother.
