If he has 35" tires, his truck is probably lifted. Most lift kits are engineered to run a different size wheel and tire combination. Lift kits are usually designed to run wheels with no more than 4.5" of backspace. The OEM wheel has, to the best of my recollection, about 7" of backspace. There may be fitment issues in the front when he tries to mount his stock wheels and tires.

??? Details please.... You do know that the reason that the necessity to run about 4.5'' bs is to overcome the wider tires which are usually 12.5'' and more. Running a stock tire on a stock rim with a lift kit will never be a problem aside from the look and handling of the truck. If you meant that I would have a fitment problem try to fit my 35'' tires with my stock rims then yes you are right but it's not what I plan to do.

They are stock sized so I have a pretty good idea of how much my RPM is going to REV with those and my 4.56.

1- I'm wondering if it's going to be drivable?

2- If not what do you suggest?

I have an Egdge Evo for you information.

Thanks for the input.
I estimate at 100km/hr you will be turning 3050 rpm in 3rd and 2150 in OD.
Put about 150kg of sand bags in the bed for traction. Be ready to use 4x4 a lot in the snow. Start in second as was suggested. Use the EVO to reprogram your tire size and lower the shift rpm. You will shift sooner into a higher gear and you might save a few $$ in gas. BTW how much is gas in Boisbriand? $1.03 here in Windsor for 87 add 11¢ for 91.

I thought the reason was that the stock tire or wheel will rub the spindle.

yeah...the lift spindles are all different. each company has a bs requirement for fitment....and stock wheels usually means you will rub bad.

@ STU486 & dilloncawthon --> stock wheels are not a problem if you are running stock tire size. The rubbing occur when running stock wheels with over sized tires (ex: 35X12.5rX thus the reason for a lower BS requirement.

@ JMC Thanks for the heads up. As far as RPM's goes I'm not quite sure to what extent I can lower them... any idea?

Gas here is 1.10$ and about 1.24-26$ for 91. I stopped looking at that quite a while ago. I just fuel it whenever it needs too... I always told myself that whenever the gas price will start to bother me I shall sell my truck and buy a small car. Don't get me wrong I am well aware that at this price it's a steal considering that the oil barrel is about 80$ but I can't do anything considering I'm not quite ready to go green yet!!
