9.75" Trac-Lok Rebuild Info Needed
Guys, I have some end-play in my axles, and assume it's due to the clutch packs loosening up (although the P.O. stated it was redone shortly before I bought it, about 10K ago.)
A few questions:
1) How different is the procedure on the 9.75 from that of the 8.8? (I did my Mustang without any problems.)
2) Does anyone have a link to a tutorial/detailed instructions?
3) Where is the best place to source the rebuild kit?
Thanks in advance.
Andy

Get the friction plates, clutched from Randy's ring and pinion. Then you will need 2 new spring washers from ford. These washers go behind the actual clutch packs. These washers are what actually puts pressure on the spider gears. When I add gears before I put in a true trac, I rebuilt my trak loc, and add a extra .030" shim to each side to add a little pressure... You will need a extra hand to gut the spider gears out along with reassembly.
