4.56 gear questions

Been reading for a few hours now and can't seem to get all my info.

I have a 05 FX4 with 3.73 LS, and am wanting to go to the 4.56 set up. What all is needed for this swap? What axle sizes do I have? May sound like some dumb questions but I'm not to gear savy.

P.S.
Would I have the 8.8 rear or 9.75?
Thanks,
Cameron

All trucks with the 5.4 have a 9.75 rear unless it has the max payload package (7 lug wheels) which has a 10.25. The front is a 8.8 reverse cut.

Thanks alot glc! That was my biggest question. I couldn't figure it out lol. Is there anyway to keep my LS in it with say motive 4.56s? Would you suggest all new bearings while the gears are installed?

How did you and your family fend that the recent disaster? I'm in northwest ok and heard alot about it.

I'm about 2 miles north of the destruction path, everything is fine here, all I got were a few small tree branches down in the yard, lost power for a day, and no cable TV for over a week. Thank you for asking! Yes, it was scary.

You should be able to keep your factory LS.

most major install kits come with new bearings. I had my 3.55s swapped for 4.10s this past weekend and the Yukon install kit had all new bearings in it.

Where did you purchase yours buckles? I might just buy the whole set (front and rear) and be done with it. You do the install yourself?

I had a friend install mine, and he is a dealer for Yukon, so he got them straight from Randy's at a pretty good price.

But he did tell me, that http://www.ronsmachiningservice.net usually has better prices than him.

I watched for the entire install and it didnt look that hard, but it did require some special tools.

I ordered my 4.56's and master install kit through http://completeoffroad.com/. They had the best price that I found.

That http://www.ronsmachiningservice.net/ site is not very user friendly. They need to break it down better for each axle. Their product info doesn't give very much info either (such as what brand bearings are in the install kits).
