are you sure that you have the 3.08 gears. i have a 97 lariat and thought the same til i wanted some 3.55s. when my buddy pulled off the back plate it already had 3.55s. but to try to answer your question, your 235s are a little shorter than my 255s but i wouldnt say that accelertion would be equal cause my truck comes off the line like a bat out of hell. anyway i would say it could be somewhere close but not equal.

TRussman;
To answer your gearing question, the ratio of the two tire sizes that you mentioned is 0.96. The ratio of the two gear sizes that you mentioned is 0.87. Therefore the truck with the larger tires and 3.55 gear is still going to have higher numerical gearing than the truck with the 3.08 gears and the smaller tires.

TRUSSMAN,

F.Y.I. Your gear ratio should be on a metal tag the is held on by a bolt on your third member connecting to the axle housing. It would have saved your buddy some time and you a new gasket.. I will be upgrading my gears within the next few months.. I have 3.55 stock.. Going to 4.10.. If your interested in purchasing my old gears.. Anyone who wants them let me know..
