Axel Gears on a 06 4.6L F150

Hey guys, I have a 2006 F150 4.6L V8 supercrew, I bought the truck with 22in wheels and it runs ok, but to me it just seems kinda laggy, now I don't know if this due to the engine liter just being small or the axel gears not being able to handle the wheels, does anyone here known what gears the 4.6 comes with from the factory no tow package and would bigger gears help with the wheel setup?

The axle code will be on the drivers door sticker. It will be something like 26 or H9

You have a 3.55 open diff. 4.10's or even 4.30's would help you out. Have you looked at a programmer?

Kinda, I'm thinking about having it dyno tuned for more power and better fuel economy at a local ford performance shop, he includes a programmer with the tune,if I switch back to factory 20in wheels, can I still get some better performance out of my truck with the 4.10 gears?

the wheel size doesn't have much to do with anything. The tire size is what really matters. A programmer with a custom tune and 4.10 gears would be a BIG step in the right direction
