front hub seals?

well this might be a stupid question but i have been having a problem on my 2004 f150, my 4x4 will not engage, i know it could be my front hubs or my vaccum seals but i have searched everywhere and can not figure out where to find this seal, is it in the hub its self? the problem with my 4x4 is when i put it in 4H it will engage (i can hear the t-case click) but when i give it gas the front wheels will not turn it will make a loud grinding noise, im assuming it is either my seal or my hub. i checked all the lines and they are all in one piece. so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome, or if you have a diagram of the hub and seal.

on a side note, also in 2wd the front hubs will make a grinding noise still? whats the deal with that

Sounds like your IWE's are shot. Vacuum releases them for 2wd, no vacuum engages them for 4wd.
