Regear 4.30s

I need to know who makes a 4.30 for the 9.75 rear end. All I can find is motive. Anyone have links to a R&P set? And all I need? Also will I be able to keep my LS?

All I have seen are motive brand ones as well. I had 4.56 motives in my '01. Never had any problems with them.

I've got Motives in my 8.8 and they're doing well, except for the singing they've been doing since day one. I wouldn't suggest 4.30's though, hurts MPG's too much. 4.10's would be a better choice and give you more options in terms of brands. And yes, you'll be able to keep your LS.

Your mpg dropped with 4.30? I thought regearing would help gain city mpg or that's the case only if you're running larger tires?

if your foot is in the radiator, mileage is going to suffer regardless

Regearing that high would only help MPG's if you were running bigger and heavier tires that cause the drivetrain to struggle on take off. I've just got street wheels and tires that my truck didn't struggle with in the first place. And my crusing RPM's are higher than they were with 3.55's which kills fuel mileage.

What that guy said ^

With me going from 3.55 to 4.56 in my 4x4 with 33" tires and 6" lift, I gained 2mpg

So would 4.56 be a better gear for 33's? I'm gonna do 33's soon with 4.10's. I live on an island in the pacific and all we have is stop and go traffic. Guam is about 30 miles at its longest and 12 miles at its widest. Roughly about 212 square miles (stop laughing).

I'm deciding on 4.30's or 4.56's myself. I just put a 6" fabtech on my reg cab 2wd with 35's!!

I am going with 4.56 at some point. With 35's I would go 4.56 for sure. I would be using them with 33's but my little 4.6 2v needs all the help it can get pushing this heavy truck around.

For your application with just city driving, 4.30's will be a good choice. if you drove highway, i'd suggest 4.10's.
