Unhappy New Lift Broken Rack and Pinion Now

Well have had the lift on for about a week and a half and I have already broken my rack and pinion it does a loud clunk and than the steering wheel position changes. The mechanic that did the alignment said that there is probably some teeth that broke inside.

Sucks big time as it is now another 400 dollars for the rack and pinion that needs to be spent and a few more hours of me working on it but I look outside at the truck and it looks so damn good pretty much doing this wishing I didn't do the lift than looking at the truck haha

Anybody else have this happen or heard of it before? Or have any tips and tricks to make the change a smooth operation?

Details in sig

I installed my lift on a truck with 200,000 miles... I replaced ball joints when we did it, but since then I've had to replace everything ... And I mean everything, The only thing that isn't stock under that truck Is the steering box, And that will be replaced when I get back home from school
