Need info: not Ford related

So I am really not sure where to put this so please move if desired.

Here is some info:

For work I drive a 2012 GMC Workhorse Step Van. I'm not entirely certian of this, but I believe its the W62 series with a Vortex 6.0 Gas engine and a 5 spd Allison Transmission. It currently has 45k miles on it.

Here is my problem:

Yesterday after a long day of work, as I started the truck to leave the office I notice on my Dash Cluster I had a Flashing "Green" Wrench.

During normal idle the wrench would continue flashing. Under normal driving condition it would stop flashing after just a few miles and go not come back on. Only comes on when I start the engine.

I have found similar indicator lamps, but they are RED and an ! point rather than a wrench. Any relation between the two?

here is a photo

I had our mechanic look into it and he had never seen an idicator like it. A scan tool revealed a code (didn't get it so i cant share it) that said something along the lines of Transmission Fluid Filtration restricted.....

at one point the flashing indicator completely went away. It doesn't seem to be consistant and, as mentioned before, does go away when driving.

Anyone got any ideas on what I'm looking at?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

My appologies its not FORD.

Cheers

Nemi

I'd guess that you have a plugged transmission filter................

External Filter was replaced first thing without any change.

my main curiousity is what the green wrench means.... if any one thing.

Not to insult your intelligence, but it isn't in the manual?

This is a company work truck. Owners manual are not stored on these trucks. Just for ****s and giggles all the Manuals in PDF on the Workhorse website do not show any such Dash Indicator thats green with a wrench.... anything to do with the transmission is a red indicator with one of these ---> ! in the middle. Which from what I've read means transmission failure.
