My 97 F150 4x4 has only 80,000 miles. It developed a leak where the axel exits the front differential so I took it my mechanic thinking that only the seal was needing replacing. Well a groove was worn in the axel & it needs to be replaced. Also there was a lot of powered aluminum in the oil. Has anyone seen this before? Also he said some Chevs & jeeps have trouble with front differentials.
