which gears are better?
Hey guys,
I have a 4.6/5 speed with a 3.08 rear end. I have 30 inch tires now (29 inch org.) and maybe going to 31s in the future. My question is I want more power during acceleration, but I do a lot of highway driving so don't want to put too much strain on the engine at high speeds (80-90 mph). So which would be better the 3.55, 3.73 or the 4.10? and with this change do I need any other mods in order to get the full effect of the gear change? I would appreciate any advice into this. Thanks in advance.

Either go with the 3.55 or 3.73. The 4.10 will be way to deep for what you want. Usually you run those gears with 33 to 35".I think you would be most happy with the 3.73 though. I had that tire size until I got my Laredo M/T's and I have the 3.55 Often I wished that I had lower gears. I always thought that it seemed a little sluggish with that combo on it.
