Question gear ratio

Could someone tell me what they might think the gear ratio on my 87 f150 custom 300/4sp 2wd 5 lug is?

It helps if you can go down there and look for the metal tabs they have attached to one of the bolts. You will find all the information you need. Or check at the door for a sticker with the specifications. I know it is a model with some years but the information may be there.

If this doesn't work try the old trick of the cord. Tape, glue, stick or whatever a cord to the the top of the drive shaft and turn the wheels once. Having the stock size tires helps get the number you are looking for. Count how many times the cord wrap around the shaft. That's the gear ratio. Three and a half turns would be a 3.55:1.

This may not be a good explanation, I would prefer to do it in spanish but maybe another member of the boards can help a little. I hope this can give you an idea to get where you want.

Bigtan,

Have you had any luck finding performance parts for the 300 inline 6? I'm not big on trying to get a performance look out of 6 cyl., but I do believe in getting as much horsepower as possible. I'm interested in pulleys but can't seem to find any. By the way, mine is a '91 F150.

I have also had a hard time locating performance parts for my 6. An extremely good place to try is www.cliffordperformance.com they have several items. Superchips makes a perf chip, but iwish i could find another co. w/a better one.
