Post Gear Change Report

We'll alittle feed back for everyone. I recentley changed my gears in my 98 F150 4.6L 4X4 SC from 3.55 to 4.56. This was due to an increase in tire size and needing more bottom end. What a difference, well worth it and the speedo gear needed was a 23 tooth. I bought the gears from Drive Train Warehouse, Precision Gear Brand. So far so good.

How much $$$ for the installation? What transmission do you have? I am supposed to run a 21T gear with a combination of 4.56's and 35's. Now I am running a green 17T gear instead of the pink 19T.

98 F150 SC 4X4 4.6L 4R70W trans, original gears, 3.55, 30" tires. Now 4.56, 33" tires. Installation (LABOR ONLY) $400.00. I bought everything myself, gears, gear lube, install kits, gear marking compound etc. I could have done the installation myself, I have set up Ford 9" rears in the past. The reason I did'nt this time is because everyone told me how hard it was to get to the front differential! I say NONSENSE. I watched the mechanic do the job and I could have done it for sure. Oh well sorry to get so long winded. Anything else let me know!
