Unhappy Parking on inclines bad?

I occasionally park my truck on a steep incline, with the front of the truck at the top of the hill. I was told today by a local "Otis" that is could do a lot of damage by draining the bearings...Anyone out there have any info on this? Does anyone know of anything bad that could happen/and damage that may occur by parking on an incline?
Thanks!

I've never heard of any problems caused by parking on inclines. Just make sure you use your parking brake because the parking pawl in the tranny is very small and i wouldn't trust it to hold the truck on an incline!

Parking on an incline (automatic)

1)Shift into Nuetral
2)Engage parking brake
3)Take foot off of brake pedal
4)Put foot back on brake pedal
5)Shift into Park

This will put the whole load on the Parking brake which is where you want it.

Our driveway has an incline. I could not get my wife to do this. I knew whenever she left, "BANG!!!" she just shifted.

I half buried a landscape timber where she parks. It serves as a bump to save the tranny.

She pulls in a foot short of it and flips me the bird. BANG!!!

Oh, you can skip number 4. The truck will shift from Nuetral to Park without the foot on the brake. It must be From Park to something else that requires the brakework.

Cool Firehawk-

Your bearings will be fine.
If there's a curb on the hill, turn your front wheels left when facing uphill, right when facing downhill blocking your tires/weight against the curb.

It sounds like "Otis" may have smoking the rope from "Gomer's" blue jeans.

If this were true, every vehicle in San Fransisco would have bearing problems.
