Is this a good Price for 4.10's

I called my buddy at ford and got a price on 4.10's from ford motorsports and quoted me 160 bucks for the gears and installed for 200 bucks. It this a good price?

Thanks

I assume you mean $200 more for the install, on top of the gears. Yes, that's a good price if the job is done by someone experienced with setting up a ring and pinion. I paid twice that for an install at a 4WD speciality shop ( mine was a 2WD ), but they were good. I wouldn't skimp on the labor. If it's not done correctly you'll chew up those new gears in a short time. You'll love the 4.10's, big difference.

Cool tanman-

That's a very low price. Most experienced mechanics around my area charge $500-$700 per axle.

price estimates

I just went to 2 different shops within the last week and got estimates on changing my truck to 4.10's . The performance shop quoted me a price of $980 and a local transmission shop quoted a price of $1500. Mines a 4x4 .
