Cool What gears should I buy?

I am looking for some advice on gears and what ratio do think that I should go with I am wanting more low end power for my slow 2wd 4.6 I have 18" lightning wheels with 295/45/18's I do have to drive the truck on the highway everyday but I really want more low end but something that won't kill my truck on the highway. Thinking about the 4:10's do you think the 4:56's would be overkill. I would like to hear from some people that have these gear in a 2wd. Thanks, Paul

I don't have a 4x2 but I think with your tire size the 4.56
would be too low on the highway (but would be great for towing). You might be happy even with the 3.73's.

I have the 4.10's and love them but I have the ORP package (31.5" tires). I turn about 2100 at 60 mph in OD.

3.73 gears will put you at a stock rpm for a 255/70R16 with 3.55. I'd say that level is just adequate for acceleration and about right for highway. However if you really want to feel some G's you'll probably want 4.10's. The 4.56 is going to be a lot of rpm on thr freeway.

Thanks guys, I think the 4:10 would be perfect. It should be fine fine on the highway as long as the over rive is on. Thanks again for the input.
