I recently traded into a 2000 F 150 4X4. The original owner could not be contacted to ask what ratio the rear differential had been optioned with. How do I tell or find out what gear ratio the rear differential has. Thanks.............

 

There is an axle code on the driver's side door jamb sticker. Post the code here since the "search" is down. The actual ratio is also on a metal tag attached to one of the rear-end cover bolts.

Did some reasearch on my 98 F150 awhile back and found this.

 

It was listed as a H 9 code. So the look up chart said 3.55 limited slip. Thanks to all who answered my post........
