Don't have one but the literature looks promising. I like the idea that there are no clutch plates. Who wants the clutch plate material dust mixing in their oil. I purposefully did not get Ford's limited slip, so that I could install the Powertrax later myself.

I am also interested in the Powertrax No-Slip. I like the fact of not messing with the ring and pinnion setup.
I have a OEM limited slip in my truck and it worked great for a while, but this is not true anymore. It won't lock up and causes the truck to shudder starting from a stop into a turn. I tried more friction modifier draining, refilling and adding friction modifier... tried it all it's just gone.
I was wondering about the handling charatericstics of it on the road. Does it drive like a limited slip or a locker? Will you know it's there under normal driving?
By the way I found National Wheel & Tire (www.ntwonline.com) 1-800-847-3287 has it the cheapest I found $365 for my truck.
Thanks, Jetter

http://www.powertrax.com check it out.

as far as handling on road, I believe it still acts like a limmited slip, from what I've heard/read. But you might want to read more into it for yourself. Also, Jetter, do you have an 8.8 axles or the 9's? Thanks.

From what I've read there are other manufacturers that offer a LS that is more road friendly while giving good off-road performance. I think Auburn and Detroit make similar setups. I read an article in the Feb. 01 issue of Four Wheeler that featured these. Just my 2 cents.

r0land: I have the 8.8 diff. in my truck. The reason why I'm leaning toward the Powertrax No-Slip is because of being able to do-it-yourself without messing with the setups for everything. From what I under stand it's basicly a quite locker, but it is a locker. What about lockers and carrying heavy payload, are there any problems with that, anybody know? Towing?

Unitrax is one of our sponsors with Project Responder. They have supplied us with a PowerTrax NoSlip unit for our Dana 60 front axle. The axle just came back from the sandblaster today and it will be re-assembled with the PowerTrax unit. We will have complete installtion information with photos on our site for anyone that is interested. We won't really know how well it works for another couple of months as we finish the rebuilding of Project Responder. As was mentioned earlier, it looks very promising and the installtion is not very difficult. You can visit the Unitrax site by clicking on the Unitrax logo on our home page.

Regards,

Michael
