Question Towing package and open 3.55 rear??

Quick question. I have a 1998 F-150 Supercab with a class III hitch. I bought it used as I can't stomach paying for a brand new vehicle. Does the towing package come with open rearends too. I would think that it would be a limited slip, but mine is axle code 19 on the door label and the axle tag does indeed say 3.55. Just curious..

Cool

The LS is a separate option from the Class III. Few of the trucks I searched on the lots had the LS.

Cool

Hey Bulk,
I have the same thing, and was a little disappointed to find mine had an open differential, too Maybe someday I will do
an axle swap and fix it. I have heard that
you can switch to LS without changing the
axle,so that sounds promising,,,,98

My diff is open because I also couldn't find a used truck with the LS (& I checked on a number of trucks). I've heard/read that the carrier for the open is actually stronger than the carrier for the LS (Can anyone confirm this?). I would like to add something like a Powertrax, etc. in the future.
