Lightbulb Silencer removal dyno test results

In this months issue of "Four Wheeler" magazine they tested the effect that removing the silencer has on HP and torque. Actually they were trying to increase mileage in a late model Ford dualie but they used different air intake systems to accomplish this.

The bottom line is, holding everything else constant, the engine lost 8 ponies and 12 Ft/lbs of torque when they removed the stock silencer.

This test was performed on a big block so the silencer set up may be different and may affect the HP and torque differently. If you get a chance check out the article - very informative.
