Questions about Truck??
Hello,
I am brand new to this forum, so this post is probably in the wrong spot cause I didn't know where to put it! I have a couple of different questions i want to ask you guys. First of all I am 15 and soon I will be getting my Dad's 1983 Ford F-150!
-What is the difference between body and suspension lift?
-How do you repair rust spots around fender areas and such?
-What is a good and fairly cheap exhaust system?
-How much do you think it's worth it only has 38,000 miles, runs good, little rust
Thank You
Jordan

Howdy and welcome to the basement Jordan!
Need some more info for pricing. 4x4? Engine? trans?
If it is infact 38K you can get a lot of money for it. Keep in mind these are only 5digit odometers so your sure it aint 138K?
A body lift simply rases the body off the frame a few inches. Cheap way out for doing a lift and is just for looks. A suspension lift actually replaces your entire suspension and gives you the increased capabilities.
Feel free to IM me.

Jordan,
Like Adrian said, a body lift just lifts the body off of the frame. It doesn't gain you any ground clearance, and is done for looks only, but in the end it makes the rest of the truck look weird because your bumpers, hitch, and exhaust will now be at stock height but your body will be higher. And, you get those nice and ugly gaps in the frame rails. To repair rust around the fenders, it is best to cut out and replace the metal. A good and fairly cheap exhaust system varies by the muffler and tips and such, but expect to spend $200 - $350 for a decent system. And I think your truck has waaaay more than 38K. But, even with only 38K, I don't think it'd be worth more than $4,000 on a GOOD day.
