Search Function

How long is the search function going to be disabled? I'm lost without it!

Sorry, I don't have an exact answer the question...or even a vague one for that matter. Turning off search is part of an experiment and I do not have the full results yet...

Smile

Come on guys. Steve has never done wrong by us, ...till now.

I'M...SURE...STEVE...HAS...A...GOOD...REASON!!!

(uh oh, I think I need a new keyboard)

one of the legs snapped and two keys popped off

just noticed another side effect of 'no search',
problem with the three fingers that type (s,t,e,v)
two seem to be dislocated and I think one is broken

At this point I'm willing to enter into a negotiated settlement:

No Wildcards
Minimum six letter search
Search on only one Forum at a time
Search on date spans not to exceed 6 months
Search available only on odd numbered dates
Search available only to USERIDS that begin with "RAOU"

My 2 cents:

Bring back the current threads until all is well. Refreshing the first page every 5 seconds is getting old.

Question appease the techno-geeks.

What exactly is going wrong with the database?

I'm not sure how a search (read) function would cause problems. Now the write functions, I understand how they could cause problems.

just my 2 cents, but if you want to drop some of those database hits, turn off signatures.

limiting the signatures won't help the database problem. ELIMINATING them will.
