My friends at Tire Factory Outlet can probably recommend a good place thats reliable and reputable. Ive known the guy for about 10 years now and he's never steered me wrong. 305-888-2205 ask for Manny.

Thanks guys. I knew about GAW, but I am afraid they might be a bit pricey. I don't know how much to pay for a job like this.

Copperhead, thanks for the number I will give him a call this week and see who he recommends.

I have an 8.8 also on a 4.6 engine (which sucks) but hey, I live with what I have.

I too was auoted $450 by a shop for the labor only. That price did not inlcude new bearings, shims, crush washer or any of the other items. Maybe it does cost that much. Just got off the phone with GAW and they quoted me around $400 since it's about 5 hours woth of labor.

I don't know, I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet on this and pay the $400. I was hoping it would be in the neighborhood of $250-$300.

Let me know if you hear of anything else.

I know GAW does excellent work, they did some work on my old truck & they just did my buddies Dually. I highly recomend them.

Good luck.

Hell yeah! but it's hard to save that much money and just blow it all away in an instant. Especially since im trying to save to get a place of my own. Man if i ever get a few thousand extra bucks ima go really fast really quickly

Im definately going to save for one after i get my new place.

If I didn't have a wife and new baby, I would buy a supercharger or a 2003 Cobra. But I can only dream. At any rate, I going to get another quote from another shop down south on the install.

My question is, how many people need gears installed, maybe I can get a group discount.

Let me know.
