Awesome sub debate

Hey i know this isnt a a debate on this iste but its wuite funny to me. http://ftw.truckmoxie.com/forums/topic.ten?id=242201 Some guy is trying to claim that JL is over rated and that a L7 12 will blow away a 13W7 in any aspect. I think this topic needs more expert advice so maybe some of the f150online crew can try to straighten this guy out or mybe even straighten my opinion out.

Later,
X

I'd rahter not!

Got through page one then gave up.

It appears that the Type-R is king and that I should trade up my 10w7s and get one.

Also that the Brahma will blow the w7 out of the water, which is wierd that even Dan Wiggins (owner of Adire) and many authorized Adier dealers concider the Brahma to be on about the leve of the w7s tend to be almost equal; however it is said that the w7 has 98% of the SPL of the Brahma and that the Brahma has 98% the SQ of the w7.

As for the guy who wouldn't even run anything other than Alpine subs...I pitty him.

People need to rember that price does not equal performance!

Also, there is no best sub out there for everything. Some will exceed in SPL while some with suceed in SQ which others with excell and give you a good compromise of both (IMO the w7 is one of the best in this catagory...with close seconds though).

As, for the guy who says "anyone who spends more than $200 on a sub is a moron" is the moron in my book. Hell if you only spend 200 on a sub then IMO you should be in a discussion asking about subs that cost more than $200 as you have probably never used them and dont know what to listen for. Also, in my book its a waste to buy a $250,000 sports car that you only drive 3 times a year, but hell everyone has their hobbies and their priorties and if thats what they like then go for it, but who am I to judge or say that they are a moron for doing that?

Just plain stupidity there for the most part....

Well said Haz.

As far as me jumping into debate with a bunch of motley fools.. No I think not. It seems no matter how convincing the evidence a fool will always retain their previous opinion to feel as if they are right.

I do believe I would rather carry on a long political and religious debate with a stop sign instead.

Haha that is kinda convenient that u mention that X. I found that forum debate a week ago and have been laughing ever since. That kid (i shouldnt be speaking but work with me) seems to be arguing with the guru of their site Andy Jones (dont know of him but a little research will fix that). Anyway it is everyone versus this one 22 year old kid who is basically pissed of because that andy guy said the kicker company wasnt that great. I too laughed the whole time when he said it was pointless to spend over $200 for a sub. It is basically him versus the whole site but anyway i will be keeping up with it because a good debate like this doesnt come up that often in the other forums i have been looking at.

Anyway i agree that u guys shouldnt step in unless ur ready to get called inferior car audio conneseurs.

Anyway thanx for posting that X i was getting ready to do so myself

If you like good car audio debates and what not try www.caraudioforum.com its a fairly good site, but from time to time it has its downfalls, which is why i dont post there much anymore. Also, www.caraudiotalk.com is a good one some older guy from the first site go there and it doesn't have as much traffic yet but its a good site. (Im either Hazard269 or Snausages01)

I geuss awesome debate was a little off base because there is absolutley nothing intelectual about that thread. I just thought it was really funny. I guess one more reason i like the tread so much is because i own a W7 12 and it is really funny to hear someone talk about it who has never evan heard one. I dont live more than 4 or 5 hours from him maybe i should go let him have a listen. Haha just playin.

Well if you guys want some true knowledge overload and alot of tech talk that is way above many peoples heads then you should definitely check out one of my old stompin grounds www.carsound.com I haven't participated in it actively for quite some time but you can speak with and ask questions of people such as Chris Gates, Richard Clark, Ron Buffington, Holly Mungal, and tons of other very hi tech audio gurus considered to be the best in the world on the SPL and SQ IASCA, USAC and SLAP circuits. Many are judges and or past and present competitors.
