04 stx speaker question

Does anybody know what speakers are in a 2004 stx with the factory installed kenwood mp3. I didn't know if they were kenwood also like the or regular factory speakers.

Thanks

I've never heard of this option. If you pop the peaker covers off, you might be able to tell who they are made by. The back would obviously tell you.

Yeah, never heard of that option either.... thinking that it must be a dealership thing.

So did you ever take the 3 minutes to pull the speaker out to see if it's stock or not?

It is one of the simplest speaker removal installs i've ever come across in a truck! Pop the cover off and remove 4 screws. The back of the magnet will either have some jibberish or it will say Kenwood.

So why is it that only Texas and Oklahoma get MP3 players? If possible post the link, i'd like to read about it. The 05 is suppose to have the MP3 available in all stock HU's.

I don't know why, but every 03-04 heritage STX I've seen has the same head unit. My brother-in-law bought a 03 STX in Texas and his has the same Kenwood and all the ones he's seen in Texas has Kenwood and every one in Oklahoma I've seen has one.

No, I haven't checked yet but I will soon.

Notice that it's HERITAGE models, not the new style F-150.
