Post Need Help

I have a dilema and need your expert advise in this matter, I noticed after I installed the Pioneer DEH-920R that the Polk and Pioneer speakers need help, the bass that this system is giving is making this speakers sound crapy, well lets not denigrate the speakers they are good, when playing instrumentals you can listen to minimal chirp but when i play a heavy bass music the speakers cant keep up with the system, so I decided to explore for a subwoofer and thought of the MTX but too expensive and take away too much space from the rear seats then I found this page but need your help find out if this will help the speakers (polk & pioneer);

What do you think will it it help it??

your polk and pioneer speakers will sound much better when you get a sub to take away the lower frequencies from them.

If you want to spend money the MTX and Q-customs they make to fit under the seats are good, but pricey still. If you want decent bass without giving up room I'd go with either 2 8 in subs or a single 10 that has a shallow depth. If you go with 8's choose carefully because some 8 sound more like midbasses then sub.

But you can easily fit 2 8's or 10 under the seats and an amp without taking up much room. I've measured under my rear seat and it's roughly a 5 inch depth. So you would want a sub with about a 4 inch mounting depth.

You realy do have alot of options, just look around at diferent things and find out as much as possible. Take your time and plan carefully

still to come: new spark plug wires, new rims and tires.

Try some cross-overs, all they do is eliminate certin frequincies of sound. It would be a cheap solution to your problem.

Another thing you might consider is an amp. H/U power is natriously "dirty" even the more expensive H/U brands.

Jolly,
I made the adjusments of the crossover and the sound is a bit more clear with the bass but as you said the power is not too clean, I'll be window shoping for a nice amp and woofer or woofers, by the way were did you install your woofer??
