Speaker Installation

I recently received new speakers for the front doors of my 99 F150xlt. Are they hard to install? Door panels difficult to get on and off? The local stereo store will do it for $55. Any reason not to let them do it?

If the speakers you purchased will fit right in to the factory space, then you should spend the $55 on some sound deadening material and install yourself. Search the forum for door panel removal and you will find plenty of help.

If you have to make more room for the new speakers, or if you don't mind spending the money, then $55 really isn't to bad for a professional install. If you can afford to have both the install done and have them sound deaden the door, then that would be the best solution.
