sub(s)/amp

well I was going to go with a seat lift & two 10's (either 2 rockford P210, or P310) and an amp- but my stereo guy got pissed at the shop, and quit- since then, the shop has gone downhill...bad. and im not willing to go back there to finish my setup- (MB Quart premium components front and back, Alpine V12 MRV-345, alp 9855 h.u. w/ highspeed ipod control)

sooo im interested in a JL S.Box did some searching, but most were old posts, and 'just installed' threads- any experienced reviews welcome
and im trying to decide between the JL 250/1 mono, or the JL 300/2 (bridged) to power the stealthbox... which would you do?

if you'd shy away from the JL, give me a lineup- box/sub/amp budget is around 1000-1300

2005 F150 Supercab, black interior

Its very cost effective to make your own box. Its quite easy, and you can make it exactly like you want it to be. There are tons of great pics and tips in my thread about my box, i posted along the way.

I've had my S box and JL 300 (bridged) in my SCrew for about 2 months now. still using factory speakers, but upgrade to come soon for that. I really like my sub setup. The box fit PERFECTLY. It goes as loud as I can handle, and it's so clean. really hits those super low rolling Hz's. And you do not hear it much at all outside the truck. That's what I like the best. I sure don't want to advertise everywhere I go that I have a kick-*** stereo in my truck. But hopefully crime probably isn't as much of an issue for you up there in the big sky country. (I lived in Kalispell, Billings, Roundup, and Sidney). So if you can install yourself and have about $1000 for the amp, sub, and box, I think you will be very happy. Oh yeah, don't even think about skipping a volume control for the sub. It's pretty much mandatory. I tapped into my rear speaker wire leads for the signal to the sub, and spliced in a RCA adapter, then the volume control **** ($25), then the RCA cables back to the amp. Need any more details, I'll try to help? BTW, your truck is really sharp. Gotta love black /blk lthr interior. Cool.

I had the JL stealth box in my last truck and loved the way it sounded. I used the 250/1 to power it, but it probably could have handled a bit more power, plus I like it loud!
If you have the time and some basic wood working experience, you can usually do a real good job of building a box that sounds good, but the JL stuff is great for just wiring up and jamming out right away. If you don't need to be heard 3 blocks away, I say go with the stealth box!

Wait, on the waverunner at the lake!? That's pretty loud! I like it!
If that's the case, you'd probably be better off to build a box, IMO, the stealth box was good and clean, but not spectacularly loud.
Good Luck!

he's talking about the SI MAG go to audiojunkies.com and they have them there. If you did't want to go with a seat lift you could do a couple of SI BM 10's they have a 5.6" mounting depth

I see you got the info you needed. Sorry, I was late on the punch there.

Just so you know. I will NEVER recommend any audiobahn products.

I wish I could get a deal on SI MAGs/BMs, but can't. I got a one time deal on my pair...I got lucky.
