If theres one thing im sure of on this thread is this kids not poor.

At 16 my first vehicle only had 3 gears out of the 5 it was suppose too. And your dad did a good job at building you a box okay you did not do this all yourself just quit BS'ing us.

2nd off you had alot of positive comments about your setup until you forgot were alot older than you. So pull your foot out of your mouth and enjoy your setup. Im sure it sounds alot better than mine at least!

man i remember when i was 16... i had to walk 25 miles to school and home up hill both ways. I worked 5 jobs and played 3 sports. I finally turned 17 and i bought my truck (i worked for every last cent of the truck). everyone doubted me when i said i could fit 3 mtx jackhammers under my seats without a seat lift... AND I DID IT!!!!!! I then posted it all over a forum and was bragging about how awesome my system was... man did i shut down all those old men!!! my system will blow all of them away!!! I then realized that i had mtx jackhammers (kicker L7) and it was just a bunch of noise. I could never actually hear what the song was because the words got drowned out. But man did i turn heads with the rattling noises of my truck falling apart!!!

I'm no expert, but you should have put in an LMI seat lift, that way you could have made the box a little taller and not have to cut a hole for the magnet.

Anyway, nice job. It looks preety good for a first timer, better than I could have done.

I did something similar, I replaced the stock audiophile sub with a Kicker comp VR 8" in the stock box. The stock box only has 3.5" mounting depth and the new kicker sub needed 4.25" so I added a 3/4" mdf spacer ring and mounted the sub. I still have about 1/2" clearence between the sub and carpet. I have no idea what the internal volume of the box is, so I stuck with the smallest required volume I could find. All in all it sounds pretty good for a single 8"

BTW I've got kids older than you pup.

Everyone should lighten up on this kid. I find it very refreshing that anyone from this instant gratification, GIVE it to me now generation is tackling something from scratch. There's no reason to believe that he didn't build it himself, but so what if his dad helped him. My dad helped me with lots of stuff.

yo there is nothing wrong with being proud of your work. i would show off too if i built a difficult box, so what if its a kicker square or a 12w7, u built the box, it fits, it plays, so ftw, and it is DIY.
