Smile Upgrading speakers for the third time.....

Well I've had my Lightning for (5) months now and am still trying to find the best speaker combination for my listening pleasure.

Initially I replaced the front stocks with Polk DX7's. It was a nice improvement, but I wanted more separation and power.

So next I added a Kicker 5 channel amp plus (2) Jl microsubs and a set of Kicker Resolution 5.25" comp's (took out the Polk's). This is a very good setup and plenty loud but I want more mid bass.

So this week I added and Audio Control EQX equalizer and have purchased the Polk Momo 465 6.5" comp's to replace the Kickers.I
had always wanted to get the Momo's because Locosvt and a few others raved about them, but I settled on the Kickers

I never thought I would be investing so much time and effort into customizing the sound, but the Lightning has introduced a new hobby and that's cool.

Focal

If you are looking for supreme sound and don't mind paying for it, look at the Focal Polykevlar's. I have always been a fan of the Infinity Kappa's, Polk's and Boston Acoustics, until I heard the Focal's. They are the cleanest, sharpest, most vibrant speakers I have EVER heard. They are a little pricey (MSRP around $800 for the components), but well worth the money if you can afford them. They actually have four lines available, the PolyFlex, PolyGlass, PolyKevlar, and the Utopia. They might be worth looking into!

Adamski,

You are right.
If I'm not completely satisfied with the Momo's, I will then go to the Utopia's (purhase off Ebay)

Talking

I don't know if I would go all the way to the Utopia's. The PolyKevlar K2's are completely awesome. I am still amazed at their quality and sound.
Also, you do know that Focal does not allow a distributor to sell online? Anything you get online will have NO WARRANTY! I don't know about you, but for the price you can get them online, you could buy a replacement pair for the same as one pair at retail.

If you are interested, I am talking to a really nice guy off ebay (my friend has gotten a few things from him) that can get the Focal's. He quoted me an outstanding deal for a set of the 165K2 PolyKevlars. If you are interested in them, I will almost guarantee they are about the same price as the Polk's, and I might could get him to work a deal for us. I will need two pairs for the Supercrew front and rear.

Email me adamski96@yahoo.com and I'll give you the prices. I think they are a little too low to be posted on here.

Also, anyone else interested in a set, feel free to email me. Please don't email me if you aren't willing to spend more than $400 for a set of components.

Tonight the Momo's are in and I am very impressed.
They really pump out some mid bass and fill the cabin to the point where you almost don't need subs. The highs are atleast as good as before.
Whether it's the change from Kicker to Momo or jump from 5.25" to 6.5" (probably comb'n of both) the difference is very noticeable and preferred.
I like my Korn loud !
