Digital Design

Any one know much about Digital Design. I listened to a 15" in a kids car last night, and it sounded good.

Not true. DD subs are made and designed to reproduce music as accurately as possible. Period. They are so overbuilt they are popular with the car audio croud because they are indistructable. You can also put the 3500 series in sealed boxes, if you want a beefier sub than the 2000 series. I run a 9500 myself in a large ported box. Beats the hell out of my old JL12W3 in both a sealed box or ported. I'm not a fan of ported boxes for mainstream subs...lose too much SQ. DD on the other hand doesn't suffer this problem though, as their suspensions are insane. You don't get any more control than 7 spiders!!! If it's SQ you're really after, do a 3512 in a 2^3 ft. ported box tuned to 30Hz.

DDs are NOT SQ drivers....now im not saying they dont have desent to good SQ but they are a more SPL based woofer. they can sound good but as far as SQ compared to a w7 IDMAX or even a brahma, dds are no where near in that ball park but as far sa SPL they will blow the other 3 away.

there is no need for 7 spiders...only thing that accomplishes is raising the mms of the driver, and making it peak to high hell now is that known as a SQ driver?? i think not

and they are not indistructable...rather easy to make those spiders break away from the mounting flange...cheapass glue

if sq and a kick of spl look into a re xxx...
