Finished the Lighting S/C swap tonight
Ok,,took me all of Sunday last weekend and 2-3hrs per night for the last 4 nights this week.
I had some issues, but nothing I couldn't overcome.
It fired up tonight and ran really rough at first. Probably due to sitting without fuel in the fuel rails or something.
Took it for a gentle drive and things are looking ok so far.
I notice that it hesitates at quarter to half throttle, but then screams at anthing past half throttle.
Well, I haven't really gotten past half throttle yet since I'm well past the speed limit at that point.
After about 30mins of driving, I did notice some serious hesitation and then the "check engine" light came on.
It cleared by disconnecting the battery for 20 second, but I need to find out what it was and don't have a programmer. That will be tomorrow afternoon's activity (after a half day at work or so).
Currently, I'm running my stock computer with a custom tune from Sal at PSP that was made for my previous intercooled, 9psi M90 Allen kit. I'll probably need Sal to tweak my program a bit for the higher boost and air volume.
The install is fairly lengthy and technical, but with patients and the right tools, it can be done by just about anybody.
Here's a picture from my updated gallery.
Yes, I know that it's dirty in there. It's been raining and I haven't been to the carwash in three weeks!

Total install time (actual working on it) was 22hrs!
In my case, there was no need for a second person since I put the manifold, IC, and blower in piece by piece.
Most items were plug-n-play, but in my case there were 4 plugs that had to be swapped from the old wiring harness to the new harness. Simple things like the one wire down to the oil filter, two wires down to the A/C unit, two wires to some sensor on the face of the driver side head (facing towards the radiator), and one more that I don't know what it was for.
Also, the Lightning wiring harness o2 plugs were keyed different from my o2 sensors. I think this might have been due to my truck being a very early 2001 and the S/C assembly coming off a later model 2001 (newer).
I still have the check-engine light to deal with and I hope the OBDII gods are with me on this one.

Thanks Brahmus.
I searched the archives and did find many people that have had the P0155 code pop up, but I never saw any posts with exactly how they fixed it.
In my search, you (Brahmus) came up as well, but I think it was in your "pre-Lightning" days.
Below is a link for OBDII codes.
If only some of the folks that did have the P0155 and P1156 codes could respond with what they did to resolve them!
http://www.obdii.com/
And I have a book now.
Each seem to do with the o2 sensor and the MAF readings.
I suspect a tune and possible change the o2 sensors will do the trick.
The new Lightning wiring harness did not directly connect up to the two O2 sensors that are closest to the exhaust manifolds.
If their price is ok, I'll get a pair with the correct plug and see if that helps. They are easy to get too.

i forgot about those days and it ended up being a bad O2 sensor so i went ahead and replaced all four with new Bosch i got from autozone. the new 02 sensors don't have the locating prongs so it didn't matter that the lightning harness was different from my N/A. just food for thought keep us up to date!

Yup, going to replace the two before the cats with Bosch from Kragen since they are in stock and $50 each.
I checked with Ford and they wanted $130 for their o2 sensors.
I was planning to put o2 sensors for a Lightning in, but I don't think that will work since I have a non-L engine/computer.
The guy at the ford dealership gave me a pitch that I need to get my calibration code and must buy ford o2 sensors if I don't want a CE light to come on. What is the story with this?

I didn't have one either. The vacuum lines are pre-formed, so they should naturally bend around to the places they should be.
I had two left over when I was done that Mad helped me out with by letting me look at his truck. It's good to have a sample to look at!
Best vacuum diagram you will ever find,,,,,is a buddy's Lightning!
