You can keep the side exit. What you need to do, is cut off the "Y" pipe on that setup, and have a reputable shop run you a true dual setup with an X pipe and two single in/single out mufflers or one dual in/dual out (your preference, some DI/DO mufflers have an x-pipe built in which would save you some money). Then, just run the dual tips out the side exactly like the lightnings have it. It looks like you have enough space to cram them in there with your running boards still intact. However, I think your truck would look much better without the running boards... don't really need them when it's lowered. Up to you bud, just make sure you find a reputable muffler shop that knows what the f it's doing.

Right, that's the technical stuff that you don't have to worry about, the muffler shop does! It's really not too difficult at all. I'm running a true dual setup with a DI/DO muffler on my 04', and it's my only performance mod. Not a big deal whatsoever, and being that you have forced induction you could really see some benefits.

RAFA--I see your in PA. I'm not sure how far you are from Trenton, NJ however if you want a REAL custom exhaust, you can go to Mufflex (http://mufflex-performance.com) Denny is the owner, and all he does is build custom exhausts. He's done thousands. From street to track. I've had him build custom exhausts on all my vehicles as well as alot of friends. He will build you whatever your heart desires. I had him build me a dual, 5" custom Stainless exhaust for my diesel Superduty. Not the cheapest way to go, however you will get what you want. Just an idea!!!!
