All ProCharged 3v owners.

Everyone with a 3v running a procharger post here.

What's your HP/tq #'s, other mods, and track times?

How much PSI? Custom tune?

How is the whole system holding up?

The reason I ask is that.. it makes good power and it looks very simple to bolt on and un bolt... No drilling for oil feed/drains.

test truck in MM&F Ford Performance truck dyno'd completly stock 236/251
With only the ProCharger at 8-9 PSI with 39# injectors went 337/391

And they're pretty cheap compared to the rest.

Being that my truck isn't *real* heavy and I can already get under 2 second 60' times... a cent might not be a bad route...

Still waiting for prices to drop though.

Any more ProCharged 3v guys out there?

I am all for procharger.....unfortunately, it seems like their performance is a little low on these new 3v. I still feel that procharger is the #1 for the 2v.
Yes, they are fairly easy to install. They are very reliable. But, you do need to remove the blower to change the oil on it.

Cheaper compared to the rest of the blowers out there.

337/391 on a bone stock truck with the predator tune.

Custom tune, exhaust, efans.. I say it be close to 375 RWHP

12lb pullly and fuel pump upgrade and it be around 400RWHP.

Drew, you went 360/400 on powerworks tune? Thats 20 hp and 9tq over the procharger... You got that with the Powerworks tune.

Not much differance with the power/tq numbers.

I'm not bashing Powerworks... they have the most complete kit on the market, by far. Everything including injectors, sparkplugs, and tune.

What do you think a Vortech would do a whole lot better than ProCharger on a bone stock truck the the crap Predator Tune.. nah.

You really need to look at the powerworks and talk to mark. My numbers are low compared to what yours would be. I have 22"s, supercrew, and 1000 pounds more than you when dynod plus all limiters were still on.

Powerworks now comes with the Xcal loaded with the tune and the ability to change things I could not.

HI!... I agree with FATHERFORD. Those #'s are not that impressive for a blown 5.4, 3-VALVE. I have a N/A, 8:1 compression built 5.4 2-valve that puts down 354RWH.P and 392RWTQ, and thats without a tune yet, and just recently found out it did that on 7 cylinders. Only 35 PSI compression on cylinder #5.

I wonder what RPMs those numbers were made at?

They are...there are too many variables involved to take any single result as gospel. Magazine's don't go to squeeze all they can out of a off-the-shelf kit. In almost every comparison or article I can think of several people with very much the same hardware making much more power out of their combos. Too much going on to lay blame on one thing.

And Neal your engine is heavily built...it should be making a lot of power reguardless.

I looked at the magazine again. It shows a dyno graph with MPH instead of RPM.... Using a speed calculator for these trucks:

337HP @ 115MPH or about 4500RPM
Crossed the 300HP mark at 100MPH or about 3900RPM

Torque leveled off at about 90MPH or 3500RPM

Converting to RPM:
337HP@ 4500RPM
391TQ@ 3600RPM (TQ peak)
Using 2-core intercooler.

This leaves alot on the table. Like I said before. Exhaust, custom tune and Electric fans, I think you'd be close to 375RWHP.

Also, the A/F on their graph Took a nose dive from 14.5 to 10.3 at about 2950RPM and stayed there.

This kit could perform well. Just need a little help and a good tune.

I totally agree khendrix. Not to mention, they didn't even use the 3 core IC. I wish I had my old truck's dyno graphs. I forgot where the procharger maxed out at. I bet there is still a lot of power to be had.

How long did you have the blower on until the motor blew up?

Exclamation

Also remember a centri huffer is known for PEAK numbers. All you are comparing are PEAK numbers. Where as the blower type used by Powerworks is ACROSS the power band.

what REALLY matters is how it moves the truck, right? A computer printout doesn't mean chit if it loses on race day
