Magnacharger Kit Stalling out!!

Has any of the other Magnacharger guys had any issues with there trucks stalling out at idle, or on deceleration going to a stop. I am having this happen very frequently, the truck is becoming difficult to drive...

Any info is greatly appreciated, on personal experience or perhaps ideas at what to look at/for....

Hi Weazel, I have had my magna in since early June of this year, other than my ongoing pinging problem (mostly at WOT) and recent belt slippage, I have not had any issues with it stalling out at the stop lights nor slowing down, I agree w/Built that it almost sounds like a vacum leak somewhere, as when I was working on my ping problem, with the vacum line to my FuelRailPressureSensor pulled it would stall out on me sometimes or just idle real rough. Or it could be the tune, I have read just today about another new magna install having issues right after his install..

All vac lines were connected, i suspected the tune to be the issue not to sure yet. I Was able to bump up my idle and it seems to have fixed the issue. Before the bump i was idling around 500-550, which to me is low.

Also i am investigating the throttle body, i know some have had issue with these new style TB's.

I have the whipple and my truck started doing that about 7 months ago. Replaced the throttle body and the problem went away.

How did you confirm that?

I've been having the same problems for a while; ie stalling out just like you described.

I've checked the vacuum lines over and again and they all look fine.

I've always suspected it's a throttle body problem, but it was mentioned on here that just replaceing the throttle body won't so anything unless the PCM is tuned for the new one. :S

I replaced the TPS and it did nothing for me.

i was throwing two codes, 2106 and 2135, both are throttle body codes. I got mine changes and i didn't get a new code/tune for it.

Reviving this thread, today I died at a stop light, took a couple attempts to get it started, felt like forever with people tooting they horns at me ..Anyway I noticed about two-three weeks back at a couple lights it would try to die but got to maybe 300 or so rpms and corrected itself, last time it did that was yesterday. I went to advanced auto to see if they could see any possible pending codes but they didn't, no hard codes yet. I am going to bump up the idle to what 750? and see what happens. Weazel, did you get a code after the first time it died or does it take a couple hits before popping a code? And with the new TB you got did you reuse the electronics on it or are they new as well?

Everything like fuel filter (wic), injectors (39lbers), spark plugs (brisk), etc, are all about a year old, with maybe 6000 miles put on em if that, checked and rechecked vacum lines and even disconnected the battery to reset the puter before todays episode.

Thanks
Bryan

If your throttle body fails just go with a 80mm BBK one =)

Ilde on most cars/trucks ive seen is usually 600-700RPM, any lower and it will probably stall or get blower surge.

waste. the 80mm on the bbk doesn't have the motor and that id what fails on the tb..
