5.4L + Supercharger = What exhaust?

I'm inquiring what type of exhuasts are being used with your supercharged 5.4L?

Items I'd like to know are:
SI/DO or DI/DO and what diameters coming and going?
Dual or True Dual.
X-pipe or no X pipe.
Headers - Long, short, stock?
Cat delete? (for off-road use only, of course!)

Anyone running a supercharger with a cutout?

Thanks for the responses.

2 1/2 is about as large as you want to go on a DIDO

Dual or True Dual.
True dual
X-pipe or no X pipe.
Xpipe
Headers - Long, short, stock?
Long tube dynatech are $1500 pacesetter are about $450

Cat delete? (for off-road use only, of course!)
If you put LT's on you will only run 2 cats

Anyone running a supercharger with a cutout?
I dont, I had one and all it did was leak like hell.
Thanks for the responses.

I have a few pix of my exhaust set up, but look up Huitt24 we have the same exhaust set up.

I went true dual with no mufflers and after so long it was to annoyingly loud for my taste. I just have some 14" center in center out Magnaflow mufflers and it sounds good. I like the mufflers cause they are un restricted and straight through, but alot quieter. Make sure you get an X pipe and go 2.5" manifolds back.

LT headers, 3" offroad mid-pipes, 2 1/2" DI/DO...

Remove the 4 cats and it will be loud no matter what, but that's part of having the blower anyway.

Most say long tube headers will drop low end torque. Based on my install, would agree. Just buy a larger lower pulley to compensate. If you are looking OBX makes nice ones and you can get them on Ebay either single or dual Y pipes. If you go dual, X pipe is nice, but pricey. OBTW OBX have small resonator not cat. No cats means tuner needs to shut them off in tune. And "NO CATS" equals LOUD!!!

Long tubes dont "drop" torque, they simply move the power band higher.

Pretty much well understood that if you want the most gains in power and torque you run full length headers.

Pacesetter Long tubes into magnaflow high flow 3" cats then stepdown to 2.5" into a 2.5" x-pipe into 2.5" DI/DO 11" body magnaflow side exit.

You should since your exhaust system cost almost 2 grand!

Okay, lots of options. Lots of great input.
Seems as tho' the debate on exhaust is over "Headers".

So, here are a few questions directly about "Headers & Superchargers":
A. Do stock headers flow suffiecent for a supercharger?
B. What type of gains are the people with LT headers getting?
C. Are the gains with LT headers proportional to the price $45-1500?

Finally, what are the draw back to this is hypothetical-
Headers to Y-pipe 3" to Y-pipe Cutout 3" to SIDO 3"-2.5"x2 to Tails 2.5-3"x2

I ask as I have neither a super or exhaust. But I ask so that I can plan my future mods with out taking a mistep or redo.

Thanks for the productive info!

I have about 1K in my exhaust and I did it first before the SC. I put down 255hp/290tq with the headers and a K&N drop in filter. The factory exhaust with a cat back will be fine if you leave the SC stock with out upgrading the tune, but once you update the tune and a bigger pulley then your factory exhaust will be your limit. These engines need to have the exhaust side opened up to see big gains. It is basically what you intend to do with the truck. I went all out and will be upping the boost further once I replace my trans but I feel the need for speed and it is VERY addicting.

if you are going this far I would just go the extra mile and true dual it. If you dont SC it then this would be fine for a N/A application but this is just my .02

I would forget that cutout you would loose low-end tq with it open. As for the headers I have the same setup as Huitt24 after I put them on I went to the dyno and got 25rwhp that got me to 280rwhp before the blower

$450 for the pacesetter's cant beat the price,
