SC and TC question.

I had the thought a few months ago that got me curious about it. What is the outcome if you have a supercharger and a universal turbocharger? Is it even possible, if it is, would it be something stupid to do?

Sorry about the question i it seems...noob-ish. I'm still learning things about my truck and whatnot.

You mean twin-charging, running a supercharger and turbocharger together? Been done before. Provided it tuned right it's almost a best of both worlds type approach. Supercharger comes in on the lowend, spools up the turbo faster so they both work in the mid-range, and the turbo mostly takes over after the supercharger is out of efficiency range. Results in bone-crushing manifold pressure though...40+ psi has been seen from a Hellion system on a 03/04 Cobra. Very powerful and not something you'd want to try unless you had a fully built combination to get the most out of it.

Thanks for the knowledge. I've been taking a gander at some crate engines to put in my 98' F-150, and I'm stuck between getting an LS7 within the next year or so or waiting and saving up to get a Signature Series 541SC engine. Given that I could go ahead and buy the 541SC right now, I'd like to have some extra money from the major dent it'll put in my wallet lol.

it's called the "manhatten project"

this question has been asked before and it would yield great results but I wouldn't do it on a stock block truck
