Strange whine from eaton SC

Truck in question is an 01 SuperCrew with a 5.4L and a SC off of an 01 Lightning. Recently I started noticing what sounds like a water pump bearing whine coming from the Eaton SC. No its not the W pump as best I can tell. The SC has about 55K miles. Oh, the noise gets slightly less as the engine warms up to operating temp.

Possibly low on lubrication? Any other suggestions on what to check?

check your belt tension, blower wine can be increased or decreased by the tension in your belt

The noise I am hearing is in addition to, and higher pitched than, the "standard" blower whine.

The noise is apparent regardless of if I am in the pedal or not. The noise I consider "blower whine" is apparent only as boost increase (positive values only).

It could be the bearings in the S/C snout... take the belt off and grab the pulley and see if you can move it any. up down side to side..

That is what I am thinking as well. As soon as the temperature gets above freezing I will give it a shot.
