not to talk smack or rain on your parade. Buy those Mustang guys must suck at driving and so does the M3 guys if they can't beat a F150

Not to poor more rain on it either but with a N/A 4.6 on top of that.

I've always tried to Tow with overdrive off in the hills, I've never tried a WOT pull with the Overdrive off..I can't see it hurting anything though.

I'm not sure if its right or not but I always figured that the only way to hurt the tranny with Overdrive is to shift it off or on under heavy throttle. Running with the overdrive off for regualer driving doesn't really hurt anything its just more wear on the motor cause of the higher RPMs.

Thats always what I figured.

WOT= Wide Open Throttle

the reason not to let it shift into overdrive at WOT is because it messes up the bands

lol thats how I got beat....

I really couldn't tell who would have won if we took off from the light but I would have liked to run him that way...

as for the lightning swap can't decide the direction of my build.. LT's and a pulley are next but then I’m thinking tranny, short block then some nice heads after that the L blower but this could take years...

The most important thing to remember when racing is to kill the opponent. Do not ***** foot with the skinny pedal. When the light turns green mat the pedal.
Trust me the other guy, unless he is your twin, will have the pedal to the boards. As far as OD is concerned WOT shifts will kill it. In the ¼ mile it is a mute point because you will not be shifting out of 3rd gear. And if you do use 4th gear you will need a cage to run the ¼ and if that is the case you will not be posting here about loosing to a POS.

The tranny is a 4 speed. OverDrive being that 4th speed. When you click OD off, you basically tell the trans to NOT shift into 4th gear. This keeps the truck in 3rd gear while you cruize... giving you a 1:1 gear change between the trans and the rear end. The lower gears give you torque multiplication and 4th (OD) will give you torque reduction. OD is for cruizing at high speeds and saving your engine from turning at 4000RPM while going down the highway.

FROM WHAT I HAVE READ HERE..

with OD on or off, it makes no difference in racing, just let off before it wants to shift into OD... I normally never have to hit 3rd gear to beat someone, so WOT OD doesnt happen much unless it has to

well some of us have to use 3rd gear to beat someone. sorry some of our trucks arent as quick as yours
just kiddin ya Built! so its ok to turn OD off for cruisin the town at 45-50 mph? is it true you have more torque then?
