My WOT shift point is set at 5400 rpm and I haven't had any problems with my transmission.

It's a Roush. The truck has been reprogrammed twice. The last reprogram was a custom tune by Roush to eliminate a thrown code for the MAF.
And it is an excellent program nonetheless. Smooth, solid shifts at high RPM shiftpoints.

I think my truck shifts at 4900 and then maybe a little over 5 on the shifts after that. I'm not exactly sure. I'll try 5200 and see how the torque converter does. If it blows up, I'll just have to build a bullet proof one till the bottom end blows.

Sure thing! I'll check this tomorrow. I'll also check it based on early morning temps vs warmer temps in the afternoon.

Remember that sometimes you may hit a speed limit vice an rpm limit. One of my vehicles with an SCT Xcal shifts before the rev limit in second gear when in automatic. In manual mode it goes right to redline. Ask your tuner or you can go in on some tuners and program an increase in mph.
Just a thought.
Not sure about 3v motors, but bottom end of 2v 5.4's are not as strong as L/HD's. I'm running 5600 with L crank, forged rods an pistons with no problem. Now then there's the tranny, 4R70W.
