Cats gone, noise up and tuner had to shut off second O2 sensor.

I run an offroad mid-pipe. No problems, tune takes car of the secondary O2S's, lot's more noise.

remember, 05+ has two cats-not four. running no cats would be much different than cuttin the rears on older trucks. right now im running no cats and i would not recommend it. i might be wrong but the long term effects could hurt the truck. my tune is still on the way but it is very loud and makes the floor of the truck vibrate. also still waiting on the new cats. i am going with high flows and would suggest it also. tuner might fix the cel but dont recommend consistently running it.

Removing the cats will not harm the truck. Turn off the rear sensors. I would keep the cats and tune it properly. Emission testing every 2 years here in Ontario. Not a bad thing, really. Keeps the smokers off the road.

Wont hurt anything, but wont be too healthy outside on cold starts, and inspection issues unless you are friends with your mechanic.

Agreed. And if you do don't forget to get a tune to turn off the rear sensors.

yeah, got the programmer today and turned off the cats and no more cel. nice.

main reason to get the cats is to maybe make it a little quieter and be legal.

I run no cats (that off-road mid-pipe remember) and unless Ford did some really trick work with the newer trucks they will respond the same way as long as they are tuned for it. The tune turns off the rear O2S's, and since they have nothing to do with trimming the fuel maps (that's the Primary O2S's job) there is very little that could hurt the truck (in fact there is nothing). Vibration/drone/etc. just means the rest of the exhaust system wasn't adjusted, run a muffler(s) with more interior volume.
