supercharger problems...
03 F150 supercrew 5.4L 2v I wanna add a supercharger but....
a few questions I have, what is the cause of stock engines and tranny's blowing up with superchargers if intalled right and with "normal boost" ? What are some mistakes made?
Also is this a job for the average guy or guys or should I get a mechanic to install?

it all deends on what you call normal boost and what you consider a hard task...
the 4r70 is a weak trans from the factory but it can be build to handle power, and the 4r75 can be reworked to run with the 4r70 ecm and be a bit better
positive displacement boost is different than centrufigal boost since they operate in different ends of the powerband at low boost (12# and less) on stock heads and cams

As stated 12# with stock everthing else and good tune is acceptable for stock bottom end. Even 4R70W is OK depending on how/where you drive. I've got 16 lbs with 140,000miles on 4R70W, blowers been on since 90,000miles. But I never take it to the drag strip and rarely see the theorectical 16lbs based on pulley diameters. OBTW I have a built bottom end now with stock upper. Started blowing too much raw oil out exhuast.
