holley thunder kit for $1500

i found a used (only like 6000 miles on it) holley thunder SC kit on ebay. is it worth me to spend $1500 on it if it has all of the parts needed? i've heard a lot of bad talk about this kit so i was just wondering if it would be worth my time and money. please let me know.

I've seen one on there a few times.

For $1500 thats a good deal. It's not a bad SC really, it's just that it is INSANELY $$$ when new. You need a Lightning alternator and bracket too I think.

Here is an install with dyno #'s and stuff...

Lightning setup 1000 times better!
Look at the belt setup on the holley if there's a pic. The way it is designed,,the belt tensioner pulls the belt away from the top pulley. Looks like you would have terrible belt slip!

quick question though. to convert my stock 5.4 to the lightning supercharger setup, what is EVERYTHING i will need? like lightning computer? or just get mine tuned? and any sort of plumbing needs and what not...i'm new to this whole supercharger thing and just want to know what to expect.

please let me know. thanks.

What year is your truck?
You should be good with your stock computer with a tune for the swap.
Here's what all you need.

Mike @ Mad Enterprise will tell you what you MUST get and what you can get away without. You don't need the Lighting ECU or harness, some use the harness but all you have to do is extend 2 wires on yours and it will save you $$.
