Dyno resultes with JDM Saleen Tune
425hp/490ftlbs to the rollers
Timing is set really low(10).
I went for a custom dynotune to HPP in Lewisville, and nothing went my way...
First I knew they moved, but didn't know which address I had was the correct one. After a big long ordeal of trying to find their place(showed up 20 minutes late when I planned on showing up 30-40minutes early) I put it on the dyno.
Fuel pressure dropped, and dropped big time. Either the pump was bad, or something was wrong with the pickup...
So after getting a rack cleared and dropped the tank we removed the sending unit. The 4" long hose that runs from the pump, to the top of the sending unit SPLIT! :o A freak thing that I have never seen happen, but have heard about it. Replaced the hose, installed a new fuel filter, and put the truck back on the dyno.
Made a partial pass and realized the pump just couldn't keep up. I'm assuming the Vortech just draws less hp from the engine which is why I was able to achieve higher HP number with my fuel pump then the Saleen. So luckily he had a used boosta-pump laying around from a car and sold that to me for half the price of the new one. Installed that and the fuel issue was completely corrected. 11:1 all the way across.
We started dynotuning, but we just didn't have enough time to finish it(I had to go to a formal dinner for the mother-in-law's bday...which I was late for). I will have to go back sometime next month for the tune. He expects every bit of 450-470rwhp and around 520-540ftlbs.
Why no dynosheet to post? Their printer took a poo in the middle of printing my dyno sheet.
Why no Video you ask? My camera decided it had enough and just doesn't want to work anymore.
Day couldn't have got much worse, but I can't blame it on HPP. They went far beyond what anyone could ask for.
