well on my 03 5.4..i ran a 125 dry shot with only a tuner and 1 step colder plugs...i went through about 40-50 bottles and didnt have a problem at all, just had to retard timing about 3* and i was set

If you don't mind, is a built motor necessary? Or how much of a wet shot can you safely do on a stock motor?

I personally like a wet kit and that is what i have on my truck. Their is a chance for a nitrous backfire with a wet kit.

I sprayed the living **** out of my non pi 4.6 i had, i would go through 2 bottles a weekend. Get them filled on friday and empty them by monday. I had a 100 wet on it and it was dyno tuned for 110 octane. I was running the nitrous tune with 93 going to get 110 and went to pass a mustang and nailed it at a low speed and shocked the tires, nitrous backfire big boom and flames out the side of the hood like 2 feet. I killed the 4.6 but it was my own fault, it was expected. With a good tune you will be fine just dont get carried away with it.

That's scary!. . . I would definitely like be on the safe and conservative side if ever i get to do nitrous. So you're saying this wouldn't happen with a dry kit?

Nitrous is completely safe if you have a safe tune and you are smart about it. I love nitrous it is a blast to use. I was running a 110 tune with high timing for a 100 shot on 93. I was being stupid and mashed the gas and hit the spray at like 30mph and when it down shifted it shocked the tires, hit the rev limiter and boom. It probably would have survived the nitrous backfire but i am sure it had detonation mixed in due to the 93. I was completely stupid and abused it at the time. I was 17 at the time. I did a 5.4 swap and sprayed it with a 100 till i got the vortech. I would rock it man, nitrous is fun just dont abuse it like i did. Hell the truck was basically stock at the time TB, nitrous and a tune. It ran a 9.0 in the 1/8. That was a 97 non pi 4.6 motor too.

with a dry kit there is no chance of having that backfire at yer intake since their is no fuel being added at the same time..however you can run lean if not tuned for it...with a wet kit its harder to run lean since u have the added fuel bein shot in along with yer nitrous at the intake..

also a wet system will 99.9% of the time make more power and give you a harder hit off the line..

with that being said..i thought i had my zex dry kit sold..not sure though as i havent recieved the check for it..it comes with bottle pressure gauge, bottle warmer and lines for everything for $350 + shipping if yer interested...

I have a wet ZEX kit and love it. Everyone always says go with nx or nos but i have had great results with mine and the zex kits are as simple as it gets to hook up.

will the kit work on my truck boss? That'd be pretty sick to put that on there with the vortech making over 500hp with my dual fuel pump setup. God that would be gnarly
