5.4 L Lightning Conversion

5.4 L Lightning Conversion
So i bought a ford heritage lightning supercharger assembly and a conversion kit from mad enterprise for my 2000 expedition. Firstly, i heard of a guy on here (if i remember correctly named phillip?) who has pictures and walk through instruction on how to do this conversion. Also, i wanted to know if anyone has done this before on an expedition or f-150, how much boost theyre running on their supercharger as i dont wanna run too much and cause piston and cylinder problems, but i want to maximize my performance. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thank you, and the kit i got from mad enterprise has all of the supporting mods needed for the conversions such as the MAF and the injectors and fuel pumps, but because of the expeditions lack of forged aluminum pistons (that the lightning has), i am worried about running too high of psi from the charger for fear of cracking a piston.

Not sure how far you want to go....I am doing a major build on my Harley Truck right now.
Make sure you stay under 10lbs of boost on that motor. I was running 12 and joined the vented block club...of course I was also pushing 426 RWHP and did a 3rd to 4th shift at WOT!!! New motor is going to be 17lbs for the street tune and 22 for the track.
Got a C&L true Flow Plenum, K&N Gen II CAI (ram air hole already cut), and chickenears ram air kit for sale if your interested.

Firstly, i havent bought the kit yet because i wanted to find out which boost level pulley belt to get so ill probably end up getting a 8 or 10 pound boost belt, but when i talked to mike, he said that i would still need to buy a heat exchange because i guess his kit doesnt have it. Mike said i could probably find someone selling a stock one on here for around $100 so i would be happy to find that, and i also need to buy new 42 lb injectors to replace mine, so if anyone happened to have a set of 8 of those lying around, i would be happy to buy those.

Let me look through my parts...I upgraded my heat exchanger to the Dual Pass awhile ago and I should still have my stock one. Also, going to be getting some 60lb injectors for my build...let me look around for the injectors also. If I don't get back at you in a day or so...send me an email. I am in the process of moving into a new office for a new job as an independent financial advisor.

Other than tune it depends on how you are going to drive the truck. If your racing, keep the boost low. If its a daily driver and you keep the rpm low 5200-5400 you should be OK with 10-12lbs. I would not go with 8lbs, you will upgrade definitely will want more later. I ran 12 safely on stock block for 30,000 miles, then went 14 and blew out the rings and exhaust valve guide, but motor had 130,000 miles on it. Bottom end was fine and pistons were OK with exception of oil blowing by the rings. As they say it all depends!!!!
