Supercharge a 4.2L F-150?

I have been searching around and can't seem to get concrete answers about any superchargers available for the 4.2L F-150. Are there any available in the first place? I have a 2000 F-150 XLT 4.2L, would love to give it a few more horses.

to be honest your best bet is going to be to build a turbo setup for it

dude, I wasn't trying to be rude or sarcastic to you

since there is no kit that I know of to bolt a supercharger onto your truck, and by time you custom fabricate what you need to bolt one on it'll be cheaper and easier to go turbo

Oh no, I wasn't being sarcastic either... I meant around here as in where I live, not on the site. I just heard supercharged V6 engines packed some nice power, I could just never find pre-fabricated performance parts for my truck, which makes sense... its a truck. but theres no shame in asking... thanks for the replies!!!

Cool I can find...

All I can find is this stuff...

http://www.myhotf150.com/Performance...Superchargers/

However, I don't think these are actual superchargers are they? looks like it just helps out the intake a little bit, I already have cold air... would these $300 mods do anything for my 4.2L?

SuperSixMotorsports makes an adptar plate for the 4.2L that accepts an Eaton M112. But its not a whole kit, just the adapter plate is priced at $900. Its also not intercooled so you would need to do water/meth.

Turbochargers have been done before and there will be the most info on that route.

the only true supercharger kit that can be used on the 4.2 is transferring everything from a supercoupe. with the 3.8 and 4.2 being the same block it is a fairly easy install. Like they pointed out before I am selling a complete setup off a 91 supercoupe that I am parting out.

Suggest you check with Kennebell. www.kennebell.net for supercharger options. Also STS Turbo makes a turbo kit for 5.4 F-150's and may make one for the 4.2

The only Forced Induction kits truely available for a 4.2 is one that you custom build yourself. Don't just go out and buy a supercharger or turbo and just start building. Do your research on what makes F/I what it is.

A turbo is a much better option as you don't need power to make power like with a supercharger.
