Cost to install Vortech Supercharger
I just picked up a 2004 Scab Lariat and I also got a good deal on a new vortech supercharger kit. Does anyone know how much it should cost to have it installed? From what I could find, Vortech says it takes approximately 8 - 16 hours to install depending on the kit but that doesn't help me much. It seems most people on the board do most of their mods themselves but unfortunately, I can't. Also, if anyone lives in Northern California and wants to help me install it, I will gladly pay them for their time plus buy beer and food!! If not, then a referral to a good shop would be great also.

What part of it do you think you can't do yourself?
The only "hard" part is taking the valve cover off to drill out for the oil drain. Beyond that it's a piece of cake.
Like I have stated though, YOU MUST GET A TUNE. The Vortech tune is complete *****. While you are at it, add a 12lb pulley, shorter belt, and fuel pump. You will have a truck that will beat most of these twinscrew/root's boys.
Save the labor money, do it yourself, and buy an electric fan setup and gears. Hook up decently on a good night and you will have a mid 13 second or faster truck.

Fatherford - Dont you have a single Ford GT pump? Does the vortec kit come with injectors?
My whipple took a full day to install, instructions sucked and I was taking my time. Plus I was at work while doing it so I had to stop and fix a few customer cars in between. However overall if you have the tools you really can save a buck doing it in a weekend!

Every truck is different. I would get an aftermarket pump no matter what.
With the vortech, I was able to get 450rwhp+ with 39lb injectors(that came with the kit) on 12psi with just the GT pump.
With my Saleen on 12lbs, the GT pump wouldnt hold enough with 39lbs without the help of a boost a pump.
I got my boost a pump used for half the price of new.

Do it yourself, nothing to it....take your time and read the instructions several times before doing it. Ask any questions prior to starting and you should be fine. Here's mine with intercooler mounted behind the bumper, just took my time and pieced it all together. Everyone here is very helpful, someone will have an answer to anything you think you can't do or figure out.
