Fuel Pump

Well, it was a pain in the *** but my truck is sporting a brand new Walbro 255 fuel pump.

Just goes to show, when troyer said "There is no possible way you can make that work, and you need to buy our stand alone system" it was just another sales pitch.

The new one is about a half inch longer than stock, so making it fit in the assembly was a little tricky but it got worked out in the end.

Not to mention, even with less than 1/4 a tank of gas that damn thing is still heavy, and getting under my lowered truck is never fun.

Why did you change it?

isn't the stock 04+ pump rated at 255lph?

1000 bucks is a lot of money when he only needed a 100 dollar Walbro pump for the power he is going to be making!

so you changed your stock 255lph pump for an aftermarket 255lph pump?

what about your fuel lines? fuel rails? did you upgrade any of that stuff????

maybe there's more to the total picture than just a fuel pump and making it work

If your truck is of the new body style your pump will not last. You have a returnless system and the standard Walbro is not designed to support a pulse width modulated fuel system.

I never thought about it, but a pulse width modulated fuel system will use the injector's signal to the pcm to control the fuel pump voltage??....interesting.

What kind of fuel system would you build that will support what an a1000 does for less money? I am not trying to be a **** but i would like to know what your talking about. I have an Aeromotive a1000, their fuel rails, their regulator and their 100 and 10 micron filters, -10 feed -8 return. I know I have a small fortune in it but i know i will never run out of fuel.

like 150xlt is saying

- you didn't build a fuel system you only changed a pump with one that's NOT designed for your current fuel system and may fail because of it
